New Making Sense of EHC plans training!

This summer term, DiAS is launching the next part our new our ‘Making Sense of’ training series for parent carers – Making Sense of EHC plans.

Word trainingMany of the parents we support sometimes get a bit lost when it comes to EHC plans, what should be in them and what they are used for. Perhaps it’s been a while since you’ve looked at the plan, or since it’s been reviewed or discussed? Or maybe you’ve decided to dip your toe in the water, and this is the first time you’ve thought about looking at it properly?

Whatever the situation, these training sessions give lots of tips and practical information to help you get to grips with it. Split into two online sessions, the training aims to help parent carers understand their child’s EHC plan and what’s in it, how it is used and how to take part in the review process. The focus is on answering the questions parents often ask about EHC plans and helping you feel more confident about the contents of the EHC plan and your role in the review process.

The training is most useful if you’re child already has an EHC plan or if your child has had an assessment and a final plan is due to be issued soon.

There are two online sessions which you can do one after the other, (part one followed by part two) or separately as individual stand-alone sessions. All the training will be repeated each term so if you miss one session, you can join the next time.

Tickets are free. Each session has an hour for the main part of the presentation and 30 minutes for questions afterwards.
