Education Health and Care (EHC) plan reviews
1–2.30pm, Thursday 27 June 2024

This session is for any parent or carer in Devon whose child already has an EHC plan.

EHC plans need to be reviewed regularly – usually once every 12 months. This is to make sure that your child’s needs are clear and the support they have at nursery, school or college is right and is helping them steadily achieve their goals.

In this session you’ll find out about

  • myths and misunderstandings about EHC plan reviews
  • the process of an EHC review and what each part means
  • review meetings and what happens at them
  • your role in the review and how to make sure your views and your child’s are heard
  • what happens after an EHC plan is reviewed

Listening to your child’s views
1-2.30pm, Thursday 18 July 2024

This session is for parent carers in Devon, who are supporting a child with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), who would like to find out more about gathering and sharing their child’s views.

Helping your child to express themselves and tell you how they feel about life at school (and life in general) is important. It helps to make sure they get support that’s going to work for them.

In this session you’ll hear lots of practical tips and strategies to guide you. We will be sharing tools to help your child focus on what’s working and what isn’t, and where they want to get to.
