Our booklet about EHC needs assessment has been revised and updated!

We have added new information about using Devon’s EHC Hub, the online system where you can follow what’s happening and take part in a needs assessment. We have also reviewed all the information to make sure it’s up to date.

Available as a PDF, the booklet takes parents and carers step by step through the needs assessment process – from thinking about an assessment through to getting a draft plan.

Parents and carers were involved in the development, helping to choose the design and commenting on the content. The PDF booklet has colour coded sections, small chunks of information and step by step guides to processes. Parent quotes help to bring the text to life and information is easy to find and clearly written.

This booklet is the first of several planned guides for parents and carers. Future booklets in development include EHC plans and reviews, SEN support in schools and exclusions.
