DiAS 2019-20 annual report out now!

This week saw the publication of our annual report for 2019/20 and in it you can find details about what we achieved, the number of people we supported and how we influenced local and national policy and services.

Here are a few of the highlights:

  • We gave casework support to 1879 people, an increase of 16% on the previous year. We are supporting more than 500 more families year than we were two years ago.
  • Georgie and Vanessa who staff our enquiry line are giving lots of information when people first contact the service. In 2019-20 they were able to give comprehensive advice to 302 people which answered the queries they had. That’s an increase of around 30%.
  • Our volunteers and DiAS Officers supported at 343 school meetings across Devon. These included school meetings, review of EHC plan meetings and exclusion meetings. That’s a whopping 140 more meetings this year!
  • DiAS Officers supported 83 families with advice about going to tribunal.
  • We have delivered 31 training sessions to 417 people.
  • The number of followers on our Facebook page increased by more than half.
  • We launched the Ambassador Volunteer project, connecting local SEND communities to the right information and support, and giving them a way to feedback about services.
  • Parents and carers helped us to develop a new logo and look for our materials and the website.
